What chimneys are like in Paterson
Paterson is a mill city, and its housing was built for mill workers and mill owners at the same time, which gives you two very different kinds of chimney a few blocks apart. Around Eastside Park there are large, well-built houses from the 1890s through the 1920s with proper multi-flue masonry stacks. Through Riverside, Sandy Hill and People's Park the stock is dense two- and three-family frame houses from the same period, built fast and close together.
